Well, last Friday just after school, Katie got into
a car accident. She was driving down a school access road
and another student tried to turn left, right in front of her.
He had a stop sign but pulled out and got hit.
The other driver was cited for careless driving.
She had a headache all weekend, probably caused by
the airbags that hit her. Her neck is a little sore still and
she may end up having to go to the chiropractor for that.
These blocks are on our mantle
and are supposed to spell out
the different holidays, but as you can tell,
we use them for other things.

This is our car, a Toyota Echo.
Both drivers were unhurt, but Katie was quite upset.

This is the other car, a Toyota Corolla.

The airbags. It looks like the passenger airbag
cracked the windshield. The box there is one
I used to gather all the things in the car before it
went to the body shop.

The impact knocked off the dial on the right.

The radiator got pushed back into the engine,
but I was still able to drive the car to the body shop.
Well, today (Wednesday) we got the word that the insurance company 'totaled' the vehicle. We don't know yet what dollar amount they are going to offer, but you can bet that it won't be enough to get a replacement.

Well, if you can drive it to the body shop, Katie can still drive it to school and back, right? Just kidding. Hoepfully they get back to you sooner than later about the insurance settlement.
