Katie Is A High School Cheerleader

This is Katie's first year of high school and she is going to a brand new high school, the Appoquinimink Jaguars. Right now the high school only has freshmen and sophomores. Here are a few pictures from one of the first football games with the original high school in town, the Middletown Cavaliers. That is the high school that Michelle, Sam and Sue all went to. This was a night game and most of the pictures were taken from the stands.

Katie is in the middle.

Katie is on the bottom right, part of the 'base'. You have to be pretty light to be a 'flyer'. (I think the girl in the middle is checking to see if the flyer is wearing her regulation bloomers).

Yeah, they caught her.

Here is Katie with her friend Cassie. About half of the kids Katie attended middle school with went to the 'other' high school.

Katie with Kristy, who lives across the street from us. That situation is kind of strange, but before the new high school was opened, the school boundaries were redrawn and some kids that were already attending the 'other' high school were allowed to continue.

At The Park With Isabelle

Today, after a nap or two, Michelle, Isabelle and I went to the park just down the street in our neighborhood. It was cold, but Isabelle still had fun.

No, she's not in jail, although I know a few kids that would be better off behind bars.

"No-Shave November"

Brian is a senior in high school and wants to look like my high school senior picture. I had facial hair, and long hair also. He is not growing the long hair, but growing the facial hair. His plan is to take my senior high school picture with him to the barber and getting the 'look' I had way back when. Then after that he will get his senior high school pictures taken. Hopefully it will all come off after the photos are taken. I smell an new family tradition beginning.

Thanksgiving Celebration

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Heidi's brother's house in Middletown. Heidi's brother, Gibby and his wife, Diana had about three dozen of us relatives over for the feast. Just about everyone contributed with food and/or labor and we all had a good time visiting and catching up with everything.
The table was set real nice before the attack.

Tim with Heidi as she carves one of the two turkeys. One turkey was a fresh tom turkey that the town gives all the employees at Thanksgiving time. (She works for the Police Department.) The other turkey is one of 16 frozen turkeys we obtained (because we have a chest freezer) from a friend that got them from a delivery truck that over turned (long story). Anyway the turkeys were undamaged, and we gave many away including one to Gibby and Diana.

Brian and Heidi's brother, Gibby.

Katie and cousins Ryan and Logan (kinda). Ryan is Gibby and Diana's oldest of three sons. Logan is the youngest.

Shades Visit the Menasco Family For Thanksgiving

Michelle, Drew and Isabelle drove to Middletown from their home in Blacksburg, VA to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us and with Drew's family. They arrived late on Friday night November 21st. On Saturday, November 22 they came by the my office on Main Street to pick me up to watch the annual Christmas Parade out front. (In order to get the day after Thanksgiving off, I had to work on that Saturday.) Here is a picture of us out front of the newspaper office just before the parade, Michelle, Brian, me, Drew and Isabelle waving from the stroller.

A few pictures from around the house...

Isabelle got a new booster chair. Now she can sit at the table with everybody else.

Well, at least the cat likes the highchair.

The night before Thanksgiving, Katie made Sausage Lasagna. It was delicious. Here is a before and after picture of lasagna:
Before.

After. I think Isabelle liked it. What do you think?

Bath Time!

Isabelle wears bling almost every day.

Oh, just a minute... she's on the phone.

More bling, just another day.

Playing the little keyboard, with bling, of course.

Isabelle playing the 'real' piano. Way to teach her bad habits, Katie. Where did you learn that?

Brian's cat, Cortez, likes to chase Isabelle around the house when she pulls this little dog toy.

A Little Halloween Fun For Everyone

I guess this is what happens when you live in Texas.  FYI:  That is not a beer, but the shag may be real...
