Katie Turns 17

Today Katie turned 17, so we went out to eat dinner at a restaurant of her choice: Texas Roadhouse. Katie is a carnivore, so of course she picked her favorite steak house. Yesterday, for her birthday, Heidi took Katie to a Phillies afternoon baseball game.

Here are a few pictures of her birthday.

Not too happy about going out to eat. Not really, she is just faking it for the camera when I asked her to smile.

Yeah, this is the kind of smile Katie has when she knows we are going out to eat at a steak house.

Katie digging in. That is some-sort of strawberry drink in front of her.

Katie wearing the obligatory fake cactus as the restaurant cheers for her birthday.

At home getting ready to celebrate her birthday by opening cards and gifts- and eating cheesecake!

An 'almost normal' picture with the cake- except for the reflection of the hanging lamp above the table. (No she is not Jewish)

 "Yeah!, it's my birthday, suckka!

Katie's four-year-old niece, Isabelle, drew Katie this picture and sent it with a card.

And Katie's two-year-old niece, Aubree, drew Katie this picture.

Heidi made Katie this collage of pictures from the Phillies game we all went to in the beginning of August. (You can see the blog on that, HERE) This collage has some of her favorite players, Pence, the right fielder, and Polanco, third baseman.

The End
(You will have to enlarge the picture and look at the middle photo to see 'the end', a picture she took of the third baseman bending over during the game.)
