Brian completed his mission and flew home on Tuesday, August 23. He arrived at Philly Airport around 10:15 p.m. We got all his stuff and drove him home. It is so nice to see him after two years, and to hear his stories. Here are a few photos of things from Tuesday and Wednesday.
Back in the day, Brian and I harassed the neighbor across the street at Christmastime. We stole one of his plastic toy soldiers and held it for ransom. It was a lot of fun and got several people involved. Anyway, I told the neighbor that Brian was coming home so he put out one of the toy soldiers with a plastic gun to welcome Brian home.
Heidi made this banner to hang on the garage door for Brian to see when we got home. In the evening, Heidi, Katie and I drove up to the airport to pick-up Brian.
Here is a picture of Heidi and Katie hanging out waiting for Brian to come off his flight. Turns out, the information desk guy gave us the wrong information and we were in the wrong terminal. We went to the next terminal and found Brian in the baggage claim area waiting for his luggage.

Here's a close-up of me, Brian and Heidi.
Here is a short video of Katie, Brian and Heidi while in the baggage claim area.
As you can see, the cat is not as excited to be harassed by Brian, as Brian is to harass the cat after two years.
Brian unpacking all his stuff in his old room.
Although Brian mailed back several boxes during the latter part of his mission, he still brought a lot of stuff with him.

At the church waiting to be released from his mission.
Here we are in the foyer of the church just before Brian got released from his mission.
After Brian's release, we went over to his grandma's house to visit. We then met some of Heidi's brothers and family at a Mexican restaurant for lunch. Olé!
Finally, after all that and a dentist appointment and a trip to the cell phone store, we came home to relax for a bit. Heidi and Brian are on the back deck relaxing while Brian is on the computer.
The End
